Figurative Art Symposium at Tacoma Art Museum…

Sunday I went to a lecture at the Tacoma Art Museum entitled “The Figure in Contemporary Art”. The lecture featured Bo Bartlett, Patty Warashina, Kolya Rice, and Stephen O’Donnell.

Bo Bartlett is an incredible painter and it was a joy to listen to him discuss his work, his process, and some of his influences. His work continues to be an inspiration for me.

I was also lucky enough to meet his assistant Anelecia who is quite an amazing painter in her own right.     http://www.anelecia.com/

I left the museum with a renewed sense of excitement and intense itch to get into the studio and paint. But instead decided to grab a bottle of wine and some amazing food with Deborah Scott at Vitos . If you live in the area you should try the place out. There isn’t another like it in Seattle. They have amazing food, incredible drinks, and a mirrored corner with a piano – often being played expertly by the wonderful Ruby Bishop.
